About Pullman Regional Hospital
Pullman Regional Hospital (PRH) is a public district, not-for-profit hospital located in Pullman, Washington, serving the southeastern Washington and northern Idaho region.
PRH was planning to upgrade its electronic health record system (EHR) from multiple legacy platforms to Epic when the question of “how will we access our historical records stored in those outdated systems moving forward?” surfaced.
They needed to find a way to maintain the integrity of 20+ years’ worth of patient and financial data that was saved in varying formats while eliminating their reliance on those legacy systems. As a small, regional hospital, they couldn’t afford to keep them active simply for historical record access and compliance purposes.
Additionally, PRH required minimal disruption to operations and timelines as their transition to Epic (and caring for patients) could not be delayed.
As PRH searched for a partner to help them address this challenge, Access was recommended to them by a large hospital system and a healthcare IT consulting firm. Access proposed migrating their historical records into a cloud-based, searchable archive to support Pullman Regional Hospital’s transition to the Epic EHR platform.

Meanwhile, active and critical records were migrated into Epic to maintain care continuity.
