Access Team Orlando Joins the Fight to Beat Cancer

Yesterday, the Access team in Orlando gave up their Sunday morning to assist the local charity, Kids Beating Cancer, in delivering three trucks worth of toys to the charity’s annual gala held at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Among the items transported to the gala were over thirty bicycles and hundreds of bags of toys to be donated to sick children in need.

Kids Beating Cancer Mission Statement:

“Kids Beating Cancer provides resources and support for children with cancer, leukemia and related life threatening diseases throughout the treatment process. By providing the pre-transplant testing and donor identification, costs never covered by Medicaid and only partially covered by insurance, any child can have access to marrow or stem cell transplantation, the best – and only hope for a cure. This testing is provided at no cost at the Kids Beating Cancer Pediatric Transplant Center, regardless of the transplanting hospital.”

The Orlando team became involved with Kids Beating Cancer earlier this fall when they made a $2000 donation to the charity. A representative from Kids Beating Cancer then contacted the Orlando branch to see if they would be willing to help transport their goodies from the charity’s office to Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The branch was happy to oblige and met up at the Kids Beating Cancer offices at 7:30 AM eager to be of assistance.

On the event, the Orlando branch’s Operation Manager, Jamille, expressed that, “we all had a smile on our face and I’m sure there were many more smiles on the faces of the kids when they received their gifts.” The Orlando Team is truly “Making the Difference” this holiday season!
