$25,000 fund will be administered by the ARMA International Educational Foundation

Livermore, CA and Pittsburgh, PA, February 21, 2013 – Access, founded with a vision to transform and elevate the records and information management industry, has a clearly stated mission: To lead the records and information management industry by providing its clients the very best service. The vision of the ARMA International Educational Foundation is to be recognized as a leading resource for facilitating research and scholarship in records and information management.

Today, the two organizations have joined forces with the goal to provide new scholarship resources to enable in-service outstanding RIM practitioners to advance to positions of greater responsibility that require college degrees and to advance in their leadership roles in the industry itself.

The newly-created Access Leadership Scholars Endowment is being created to provide actively- engaged RIM practitioners financial assistance for their part-time pursuit of a college degree.

The $25,000 fund will be distributed as scholarship grants to selected applicants who meet the following requirements: currently employed as a records management professional for a minimum of five years, currently enrolled in a college degree program, are able to demonstrate that their personal professional advancement path requires a college degree, and who are members in good standing of ARMA International. It is anticipated that the first round of awards will be made in the Fall 2013. Detailed application process and program information will be made available in April.

Announcing the program’s creation, Access Chief Executive Officer Rob Alston, said “The Access Leadership Scholars Endowment is important to us for many reasons. Our company highly values personal, professional achievement and we believe in helping make that happen. Facilitating advancement of people engaged in our industry – those who will shape its future – is a responsibility we believe falls squarely on our shoulders if we are to succeed in carrying out our company’s stated mission. We are proud to have established this partnership with the ARMA International Educational Foundation and look forward to funding this endowment for many years to come.”

Nick De Laurentis, CRM, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the ARMA International Educational Foundation, stressed that “The Access Leadership Scholars Endowment strengthens our current tuition reimbursement grant program by enabling larger scholarships for our most promising applicants. Access’ participation is going to make a real difference in the upward mobility for talented people held back by the lack of a degree. We sincerely thank Access for establishing this program.”
