We recently released our Winter 2018 Explorer and once again it’s filled with stories that show our commitment to our “Three C’s:” our company, clients and communities. When it comes to delivering the very best service, supporting one another and giving back to our local communities, our Team is elevating our game. Read ten of our favorite stories from this edition below!
1. Supporting communities across the country
In 2017, hurricanes had a long-lasting impact in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico, but Access Team Members from around the country stepped up to lend a helping hand. The St. Louis branch donated their prize money from last year’s “Small Branch of the Year” award to the hurricane relief fund, and Access Indianapolis collected supplies for families in need.
2. Stepping it up for a good cause
Every year, members of the Access Team attend the ARMA Live! Conference to learn about the latest in information governance and records and information management (RIM). This year, we partnered with the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) to raise awareness while we learned. We gave pedometers and pink ribbons to conference attendees that stopped by our booth, then we tracked their steps. Every step they took earned a donation to the NBCF. We’re proud to say we reached our goal of 500,000 steps and donated a total of $5,000!
3. Getting our hands dirty
The New York Metro branch came together to help a local veteran’s family, teaming up with the Habitat for Humanity Veterans Build Project to build a new home for the family.
4. Cheering on a rising star
At Access, we’re passionate about more than just records and information management! Not only is Access Team Member Dan McGlaun a great Project Manager, he’s also the First Chair Bass Clarinetist and a Principal in the Indiana Wind Symphony. He performed at the Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, Indiana in October.
5. Walking for a greater cause
Team Phoenix laced up their sneakers and walked four miles in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Tempe, Arizona. All money raised went to breast cancer fighters and survivors.
6. Shredding machine
Team Hawaii partnered with the Better Business Bureau and the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America to host shred events around the state. Not only did they shred 26,218 pounds of documents, but they also collected clothing for those in need.
7. Putting safety first
Team Bellingham celebrated a major safety milestone – 3,500 work days (and counting) without a lost-time accident. Way to go!
8. Sending comfort to those in need
Access Indy created Chemotherapy Comfort Kits to donate to the American Cancer Society. We hope these kits bring comfort to patients as they begin their treatment.
9. Preparing a feast
The Boston branch raised $600 through a PTO raffle for the Annual Schulte Family and Friends Turkey Drive, helping to feed 60 families in need last Thanksgiving.
10. Learning lots at HR Tech
From millennials in the workplace to artificial intelligence (AI) and ‘bots,’ the Access Team learned about the latest trends and developments at the annual HR Technology Conference & Exposition in Las Vegas.
