Access Announces Acquisition of Arkive: Expands Market Coverage in Canada, Adds Locations and Capacity in Seattle and Atlanta

Boston, MA, July 31, 2018Access, the largest privately-held records and information management (RIM) services provider in the world, today announced the acquisition of Arkive, allowing it to significantly expand its operations across North America.

With the acquisition, Access now covers two additional Canadian markets – Montreal and Edmonton – and strengthens its footprint in Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary, and Vancouver.  The acquisition also boosts facilities and capacity in the U.S. in Atlanta and Seattle – bringing Access to more than 120 locations across North America.

Access’ wide range of services and solutions are tailored to meet the needs of local and international businesses, driving cost savings and ensuring compliance in today’s rapidly changing regulatory environment. Access allows clients to focus on growing their businesses while reducing the risk associated with document management, retention, accessibility, or destruction by providing stringent data protection and secure chain of custody protocols.

Headquartered in Atlanta, Arkive was formed by Summit Park’s acquisition of certain assets in the United States and Canada from Iron Mountain Inc.  Arkive is a leading provider of records management solutions with customers in the Northwestern and Southeastern United States, as well as across Canada.

“We see great opportunity with this acquisition of Arkive, expanding our offering of high-quality, secure information governance solutions to businesses across all of North America,” said Rob Alston, Chief Executive Officer of Access.  “This acquisition builds upon our recent acquisition of six Canadian Records Management companies, and further strengthens our leadership in the North American records information management business. The acquisition of Arkive truly aligns with what drives us as a company; protecting and managing information for millions of people.”

According to Justin Ririe, Arkive’s Chief Executive, “We see great synergy in joining the Access family, helping us support our clients’ needs in the U.S. and Canada, with a more robust set of solutions and services.  We grew the Arkive business based on outstanding client service and Access is the perfect company for us to join as their brand stands for delivering top-notch service to all clients regardless of size. It’s a great combination of national scale and personalized service.”

John Chendo, Access’ Co-Founder and President, added, “This is an exciting time for Access as we continue to expand our market coverage as well as our breadth of solutions and services. This year is shaping up as a banner year for Access as our growth is further fueled by our successful acquisition strategy.”
